Upon the arrival of the new COVID-19 vaccine, the question that taunts many households is “should I receive the vaccine?” Although for many immunocompromised individuals the quick response is yes there are many individuals who have to think twice about the possible consequences or the trustworthiness of the new vaccine. The fear or questioning of receiving a new vaccine is something very common among many communities but is the reasoning the same? This phenomenon is known as vaccine hesitancy as was listed as one of the Ten threats to global health in 2019 by the World Health Organization [1]. Today’s blog will discuss this phenomenon along with its definition, the concerns and my personal perspective on the issue.
