Shots Shots Shots


As a child, like most other reasonable children, I absolutely despised vaccines. We’re talking the had-to-be-held-down kind of hate. The kind that leaves your mother looking for nearby circuses to sell you to. And I mean, I still don’t enjoy them, but my feelings have definitely changed. “Changed” might actually be a light word for it, given that I am now planning to pursue a graduate degree in something related to disease biology and immunology. But that’s not the point. The point is that the gravity of the importance of vaccination far outweighs any tantrum my inner child wants to throw, and you’d think that would be the end of the story. But fear likes to fester, and even in the face of 1000 truths it will cling to a single lie. Only in this case, it might have a major impact on world health.
