I write this blog because I haven’t yet got to the point where I feel comfortable posting on my social media about my eating disorder. At Eating Disorders Awareness Week last year (2020) I didn’t post, and I looked forward to perhaps being more open in a year’s time, ready to look back on how different things had become.
And yet this year I still haven’t posted on my Facebook page anything to mark the occasion, and neither on my blog about my autistic and mental health experiences. I am more open with the people I spend time with in daily life about my eating disorder, but I am not ready to publicly advocate or associate myself with eating disorder awareness and support posts and pages or tell my own story.
