Mummy Needs A Time-out

It’s been a weird year and terms of how far I’ve come in understanding the reasons behind Christmas related meltdowns. I have seen more posts this year about them than any other year and they stir mixed feelings. I feel so bad for those children that are getting so easily overwhelmed because there is so much build up to Christmas that neurotypical people just don’t sense, it’s not just the one day. Then I get mad at parents who keep forcing their children to do activities and to go to places they clearly can’t cope with. That’s the judgy me because then the therapist in me kicks in and not so gently remind me that I was go to you this too.
