College During COVID: An Interview

a pittsburgh creative

For my final podcast, I interviewed my partner, Tyrese, about his experience attending college online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although I originally intended to make this podcast a series of interviews, Tyrese’s story is more than long enough for one episode. He is immunocompromised and disabled, so his experience attending classes this semester has been unique. His college has little accommodations for high-risk and disabled students and being able to learn remotely was a challenge.

Listen to our conversation and hear Tyrese’s story below.

See transcript below.

MADISON: Okay Tyrese, so, to start off, why don’t you tell us your major and your year?

TYRESE: I’m a biology major and I’m in the class of 2021, so I’m a senior this year.

MADISON: How are you attending classes this semester?

TYRESE: I’m doing remote learning this semester.

MADISON: How’d you come to that decision?
